A journey of a shoe

This week for Writing, we were giving Objects inhumane quality (Personification). As for the object, we chose a shoe. Joseph and I were paired up. This was also a challenge because we had to face back to back, no communication was allowed either. 

My mouth was wide open, only to be filled by a huge stinky socks. I liked my hair messy, until tied my owner tied it tight. I didn’t really like him because he kept getting gum, dirt and lots of things on my bottom. Every time he kicked a ball, it would hurt my face especially my nose. When I got exhausted, he just kept getting stinkier. My owner was annoying, he was so fast he always got my hair untangled. Getting back home was a relief, I could just sit down and sleep. As my owner grabs me, he throws me to the garbage, as I was falling I saw another pair of flash shoe.

Rugby advertisement

This week for writing, we were making Advertisement for Rugby. We had 2 choices, to either make a video or make a poster. We first planned to make a video, but as time sped up we chose to make a poster. We also chose to use a Rugby Ball as our advertisement. We tried to use some qualities that advertisement had so that it is really relatable. 

Explanation Writing

We worked in pairs to create this digital sketch note, using information we had gathered together about Explanation Writing. We used our prior knowledge and class discussion to find our information. Some of the things we need to remember when writing an explanation is to have a Title, Introduction, then 3 paragraphs of information and a conclusion. We should use formal language and write in present tense. An explanation should explain how or why things happen.

Let me tell you something about the winter olympics

Let me tell you about the winter Olympics, there are many sports and countries in the winter Olympics.

I like the sports that get played in the winter Olympics such
as Ice hockey, snowboarding and freestyle skiing.

The winter Olympic is a event that gets played all around
the world.
One of the events I like is the biathlon it’s a sport that has a rifle
in the a event they have to shoot a target while they ski. Another winter sport i like is Figure skating because it is a dancing and skating sport put together.

There are a lot of countries in the winter Olympics the weirdest thing i like that some countries that have no winter competed in the winter Olympics.

This morning i work in pairs to write an 5 Minutes explanation about the 2018 winter Olympics. To do these my pair and i had to talk first and then we had to write back to back about the winter Olympics i felt so worried that my partner would make mistakes.

Today I made a google presentation about how to stretch my sentences. I wrote about a frog that leaped on a leaf in the water at dawn having fun.  

How is the Chinese New Year celebrated?

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is the marking of the start of a new year. This celebration begins on the new moon and ends on the full moon fifteen days later. It is celebrated with special meals, gift giving and visits to family and friends.

During this celebration people prepare traditional foods such as egg rolls, noodles and shrimp. These different traditional dishes also have their own meaning. The egg rolls symbolise wealth for the upcoming year because they look like bars of gold. The noodles represent a healthy and long life, as long as you don’t cut them. The shrimps mean happiness because in Mandarin shrimp has a close meaning to smile.

Throughout Chinese New Year, you will see decorations that contain the colors red and gold. The meaning behind the red is happiness, because it was the color that was used to defeat the monster Nian. They use these colors on a lot of their decorations such as banners, flags and envelopes. These red envelopes (Hong Bao) are given to children and unmarried adults to give them good fortune and luck.

Chinese New Year celebrations end with a lantern festival and parade lead by dancing dragons and lions. This is because Chinese people use traditional dances to recreate and tell stories. In their dances they use different animals and creatures such as dragons and lions. All of the traditional dances have played a part in their history.

The Chinese New Year is the marking of the start of a new year and brings family and
friends across the world together, to celebrate good fortune.

Today, I wrote an explanation about Chinese New Year. Did you know that this year is

My house is a two story.My gouse is squared not like the Wharepuni.My house has a door and a glass window.

Twas the night before a Christmas

“Twas the night before a Christmas”

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, my growling loud Junior chasing a mouse. Eating the stocking and leaving a mess everywhere, that angry loud sound he’s like an old grumpy bear.

All the kids were sleeping for the day of Christmas and also to my nieces birthday, coming her way, when junior woke up he saw some present with my brother name but are my dilly dolly games. When he went he said “HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND ALL A GOOD NIGHT”.

What three things would you do if a baby could make people invisible

One day In a country called New Zealand. There was a couple who lived in a place called Christchurch they had to travel from Christchurch to Auckland. The next day was the trip day they went from Christchurch  to Auckland.

It took them 1 hour, 20 minutes to get from Christchurch to Auckland. After the 1 hour, 20 minutes the wife Abigail had a baby at auckland hospital her baby's name was jack.

As he grew he got super powers. When he turned two he and his parent had just noticed that jack had super powers his parents knew that he had super powers because he made his parents IIIINVISIBLLLLLLE!!!

As he grew older and older he got more powerful and then finally he had a challenge with a powerful and evil little boy he was twelve and jack was only turning twelve. Jack accidentally killed the twelve year old boy and made him invisible, Jack also left with a lot of victims.

Today i was writing a narrative about what three things would you do if a baby could make people invisible.

Badminton

Badminton

Today we had badminton for kiwisport our teacher was Kevin. The first thing we done was play stuck in the mud. There version of stuck in the mud was different there rules were instead of crawling under them we had to clap between their legs and tap their hand to get them back in the game. the taggers were Mele and Nyjah they were good but i didn't get tagged much times but i freed some of the players. Then after stuck in the mud we got taught how to do forehand and backhand Position. Then after that we had to do it my our self the forehand was easy but the backhand was had to do. After we got taught how to do the forehand and backhand we had to try juggle it with the forehand and backhand position.

Next we had to do trick shot that the racket has to go around your back and the racket has to hit the shuttlecock the second trickshot was you have to hit the shuttle with the racket going under your leg. The first trickshot was hard but i got a hang of it. The second trick shot was hard it took me a long time to get but i still couldn’t get the hang of it.

After the trick shot we had a juggling competition we had two rounds the first round was easy but i couldn't leave my shuttle in the air that long but the winner was Julian. The second round was hard we had to alternate with the forehand and backhand position it was hard but i still didn't last that long but the winner for that round was Jonathan. At the end Julian and Jonathan had to verse each other Jonathan had lost and Julian won.

Today i had to write a recount about kiwisport. The kiwisport was badminton it was so fun we done trickshot. The trickshot i liked was the one that goes around your back.

Today I did three topics of persuasive writing. My three topics were free time, shorter days at school and no uniforms. It was fun doing the work and exiting to do it.
