As a start for for inquiry we learnt about a topic called leaders. This DLO included information about what a leader is and what a leader can achieve in school and outside of school. To make it look interesting we added images for each slide. Together as a group we defined the word leader. A leader is someone who steps up, by taking risks in everything they do.

Explanation Writing

We worked in pairs to create this digital sketch note, using information we had gathered together about Explanation Writing. We used our prior knowledge and class discussion to find our information. Some of the things we need to remember when writing an explanation is to have a Title, Introduction, then 3 paragraphs of information and a conclusion. We should use formal language and write in present tense. An explanation should explain how or why things happen.

Role model/Hero

As an excitement for inquiry we are learning about leadership. Leadership in our school is a very strong topic, because we are great at working towards our leadership skills. For this activity we were to find the definitions for a role model and a hero. Each slide included a photo of a role model/hero. If you were wondering as you went pass you could see that the role model slide had a photo of all of your school leaders for this year. We contributed together as we listed a lot of reasons for each of these definitions.

Panmure Bridge School Care Values

Today was the first day back at school. The activities that we completed were based on working as a team.
Each team included a school leader.
I was the leader for my group.
The first thing that we did was to write the meaning of our school values onto a piece of paper and tell them what it looks like.
In my group was Avalon, Florence, Te Pounamu, and I. After completing this we were to create poses for each care value.
Above shows the creative DLO that we created altogether. Each slide contains a photo, tips about how we can show each value,
and what it means to us. Our school values are Confidence, Attitude, Respect, and Excellence and Innovation.
