Paper Plane Analysis

Today we have got into new groups for leadership week. In my group there Joseph, Fui and Te Pounamu. Together we created a paper plane design to see which plan could go the furthest. This DLO shows the Analysis of who won. My plane got the furthest by 9 meters. Then we went to the hall to see ou tof the year 7's who's plane would be the best design. Overall Chavda's plane would by 14 meters. Her plane managed to get all the way to the end of the hall. It was a good game. This challenged showed us that collaborating with each other would let us be successful.

Athletics day

Today Panmure Bridge School had athletics day. Athletics is when you do a bunch of course's with your class. There were 4 group colors, They were red, blue, yellow, and green. There were nine course's. The course's were rob the nest, sponge relay, shot pot, discus, lifesaver, egg and spoon race, rest/dance station, long jump, and the Frisbee race. My house group was blue. In my group it was me, Jonathan, Jack, Sanujan, Nickela and joel, We all enjoyed the activities that we participated in. Students from Tamaki College came to help us with the activities. My favourite activity was the hurdle and sponge relay, because it was a refreshing game because if the water. The last field event that we did was sprints. Each year group had a different meter mark to run from sadly I came fifth out of the year seven boys.

All about Wolves

Today we had book week we looked at a book called wolves  by Emily Gravett  she is a british author. For this DLO I had to check if myths about wolves were true or not. This DLO shows the myths and facts about wolves one of the myths is do they hunt in packs the fact was Wolves do hunt in packs of six to ten.

All about Meerkats

This week we had book week we looked at a book called Meerkat mail by Emily Gravett  she is a british author. For this DLO I worked with Mataio we made a DLO About the meerkats. This DLO shows the Meerkats Diet it habitat the appearence/features and some facts about the meerkats. Did you know that Meerkat means Lake cat

Armistice Day Commemoration

Today the whole of Panmure bridge school had a special Commemoration for Armistice day.At the start of the commemoration we planted poppies and every class signed a poppy and then two people from each class put their poppies on the fence . There was a special Guest From the NZ Defense Force and we sang Reveille, Last Post and Mrs Kirkpatrick Read In Flanders Field. Mr Johnston is going to plant three Olive tress that show that the school has hope and love.

Battle of the somme

Yesterday me and ofa finished our Collaborative Comprehension DLO about  the battle of the somme. In the story the brithish army had to join the french army and they had to attack  the german army. This was apart of our inquiry session and we got geven some questions about the battle. This was a fun and new activity.
